Famous Southern Foods of Charleston, SC – Pecans

The Young Plantations history begins in the 1920s where they grew pecans deep in the Carolinas. The climate is perfect for perfectly sized and textured pecans.

A century later, we’ve got their flagship location in Florence, SC, where they offer over sixteen different flavors of gourmet pecans. This store also sells many different baked goods and gourmet snacks that are available to sample.

This South Carolina staple is located off Highway 52, and there you can find a pecan-lovers heaven for any trip to Florence, and The Young Plantations store is a destination you won’t want to miss.

Another pecan selling staple in South Carolina is Molly & Me Pecans. The founder, Kay Holseberg, has been baking since she was a young child and loved baking for others. Kay and her husband moved to the small town of Holly Hill near Charleston, South Carolina, where they raised two children and started experimenting with different pecan recipes.

Molly & Me Pecans make their precious product in small batches, and when you walk in, the smell alone will have you begging for a sample. They now ship pecans throughout the entire U.S. and bake their pecans in the cookhouse where it all started.
